Wayne Levin General Counsel and Chief Strategic Officer
Wayne Levin is the Company's senior legal and business affairs executive and a member of Lionsgate's senior decision-making team. In his dual operational management and dealmaking capacities, Mr. Levin has played a leadership role in Lionsgate’s evolution into a more than $3 billion global entertainment corporation through a combination of organic growth and accretive strategic acquisitions.
Mr. Levin reports to Lionsgate’s Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer on corporate management and strategic issues and works closely with Vice Chairman Michael Burns and Co-Chief Operating Officer Brian Goldsmith on M&A activities and initiatives related to the Company’s capital structure, including significant corporate and project financings. He was one of the architects of Lionsgate’s $800 million revolving credit facility and its October 2011 secondary equity offering.
Mr. Levin has been a key player in Lionsgate's growth strategy, negotiating and overseeing the acquisitions and subsequent integration of such companies as Artisan Entertainment in 2003, Lionsgate U.K. in 2005, Debmar-Mercury in 2006, Mandate Pictures in 2007, Pop (formerly TVGN) in 2009 and Summit Entertainment in 2012, as well as Lionsgate's equity investments in Roadside Attractions and Break Media. In addition, Mr. Levin played a key role in structuring Lionsgate's participation in the premium entertainment channel EPIX, launched with partners Viacom and MGM in 2009. Mr. Levin has successfully negotiated and drafted a wide range of agreements during his Lionsgate career, including agreements related to mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructurings and securities offerings.
Prior to joining the Company when Lionsgate acquired Trimark Holdings in October 2000, Mr. Levin headed up the Business & Legal Affairs department at Trimark Pictures from 1996 through 2000. He worked in private practice for several years before joining Trimark Pictures. His practice primarily emphasized entertainment law, criminal law, and litigation. He completed a number of jury trials and arbitration proceedings as lead attorney.
Mr. Levin has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law
for Southwestern University School of Law since 1994, and he was named to the
Board of Trustees of Southwestern University School of Law in 2011. Mr. Levin
earned a B.S. from UCLA in 1985 and a J.D. from Southwestern in 1988. He was admitted to the State Bar of California
